Rancho Mirage Area Information
Located in Riverside County, California, Rancho Mirage has a current population of 17,218. Prior to its 1973 merger with five adjacent unincorporated “cove communities”, it had a population of 3,000. The merger created an even greater city that has played host to several notable people and even several Presidents of the United States. Rancho Mirage is home to the Annenberg Estate, a residence that has hosted US presidents such as Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan. Rancho Mirage was host for the Sunnylands Summit meetings put together by then President Barack Obama during his time in office.
Rancho Mirage has also been home to several major celebrities in ages past including Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire, and Ginger Rogers among others. If you’re a golf fanatic, Rancho Mirage for you would be heaven on earth. Currently, Rancho Mirage has thirteen golf country clubs and resorts. Rancho Mirage’s first resort, known as the Thunderbird Guest Ranch, was first opened in 1946.
